Skowronnek & Bechnak are international Risk and Insurance Advisors with 45,6 GW Offshore Wind including 10 GW Non-Recourse Project Finance experience with offices in Hamburg Tokyo and Melbourne.
We offer our 30 years professional experience in Renewable Energy Risk and Insurance sector, acting on behalf of parties negotiating risk allocation in contracts, such as supply, installation, maintenance or repair and operation contracts and act either on the Employer´s or Contractor´s side. In case of an insurance claim, we act as claims managers and claims advocates in negotiations with insurers and other involved contractual parties to safeguard the interest of our Clients and achieve the highest indemnification.
We also assist Lenders and Investors by performing due diligence and draft minimum insurance requirements in Facilities Agreements and we are proud of our world unique experience as Offshore Wind Lenders’ Insurance Advisor (LIA) for European and Asian projects.
Furthermore, we support new technologies with addressing and adjusting technological parameters of projects under development and help them qualify for the level of insurance coverage necessary to obtain non-recourse project finance and be ready for large commercial scale.
Our professional advice has been provided to project owners (industrial companies, utilities and equity investors) as well as to contractors, manufacturers and maintenance service providers in renewable energy and infrastructure. In monetary terms our advice, especially if we were timely engaged, has helped prevent mistakes worth millions of Euros and equally high amounts were negotiated for our Clients in terms of claims settlement.
